| At� GROC we like boating , but we know that with all sports; enjoyment is largely dependant upon the comfort and quality of the equipment. Each boat we make is constructed� by hand ensuring the finished product is conducive� to all day paddling. Equally important is appearance.� If you have to look at your boat all day it should be pretty. GROC cambered decks are tough ( epoxy/glass laminate over mahogany or cedar ) light and extremely pleasing to the eye ( why shouldn't they be?....you don't have to look like a tank just because you are as tough as one) �

| GROC came into business about a decade ago; initially all I had intended was to provide inexpensive custom boats for myself, and a few selected friends... canoe and kayak tripping seemed like a great way to end the school year, of course I called it research and development. I hung out a sign to look official and after a while people I didn't know were knocking at my door wanting me to build boats for them also. Time passed quickly and I find myself in new shop. I still design and build boats, do repairs, rentals and the occasional guided trip, but this is the first year I have gotten into selling other peoples products; EUREKA! tents and packs, SILVA compasses, REDTAIL and GREY OWL paddles as well as our own products. Every paddler and need is different that is why, along with half a dozen stock designs, we custom tailor each boat to the paddler. GROC boats are constructed utilizing a mahogany fiberglass/epoxy or cedar/epoxy laminate which has proven both durable and attractive over the years. �
